Hey, it's Ames. Woo hoo for post number one! Let me start by saying I AM NOT CRAFTY. In theory I am crafty. I always come up with great ideas and imagine the beautiful results (the angels will sing as my friends open my creations with amazement) but when I try to actually execute these Martha-esque projects I end up with something that looks like it should be on a drying in a preschool classroom. Ya know the kind of beauty only the mother of the artist could love. Well that kinda wears off once the artist is out of grade school. Problem is that I LOVE crafts.
Solution: embrace toddler art! My girl has been crafting away since she was just a couple months old. No she is not some Picasso prodigy. I have just figured out creative ways for babies and toddlers to create art. Stop picturing a disasterous tornado of glitter and finger paint. I promise "my ways" (ok I probably didn't invent them or anything but I can claim them, right?) will result in great projects and happy tots without gigantic messes...usually. Join me as we craft our way through toddlerhood!

That's right, you are crafty! I know many times you came up with cute ideas when we worked together. I am actually going to do the ice cube art today with the kids. I just put the tray in the freezer! I think that it is a wonderful, and not too messy, project for both kids! I can't wait!

I love your blog..I feel like I don't do enough with dear son to stimulate him and he is so smart, he is just dying to try new things. Sometimes, I feel like I let him down. Thanks for all of these ideas!
